Nitro Boat Ramp and Dock

In its ongoing program to develop fishing and boating opportunities around the state, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources teamed with the City of Nitro to develop a boating access on the site of an old landfill along the Kanawha River.

A 60-vehicle boat and car parking lot was carefully designed to avoid disturbance to the landfill below. A new 30-foot wide river access ramp was constructed, along with an ADA-accessible floating dock.
